The 2020 Original Everest Marathon is being postponed to 2021
The Original Everest marathon & Khumbu challenge
We set the date for making a decision as to whether we were going to be able to have an OEM this year, at the end of June.
Over the last couple of months there have been many discussions and every aspect of organising and running have been taken into consideration and we’ve come to the conclusion that it is best to postpone this years event.
The most compelling reason for not holding on and seeing if, against many odds it could be done, is the talk about a ‘second wave.’ To me this just reinforces the fact that we’re no longer in control of our own destiny.
We really wanted to make OEM happen this year, not only to support our trekking team, who have already suffered a spring without any income, but as a statement of freedom - the power to bring an event to fruition in the face of worldwide over-reaction.
Now we’re focusing on the next OEM to be held 6th - 27th November 2021.
If you want to take part in this iconic event, you can still benefit from this year’s special price by registering before 30th December2020.
