Namaste! A warm welcome to the Original Everest Marathon.
You’re receiving this newsletter because at some point in your life you signed up to receive information on the Everest Marathon.
The marathon has had a facelift - it’s been renamed the Original Everest Marathon, reflecting 37 years of history over which the event has been crafted to provide runners with the safest possible experience of running at altitude. Do have a look around the new website.
The purpose of the marathon has always been to raise funds for development projects in rural Nepal and this will continue with runners raising funds for Doug Scott’s charity, Community Action Nepal.
Diana has retired from her role as race organiser and has passed the baton to me – so I’m very aware that I have a hard act to follow and a lot to learn. My focus is on providing you with a trek and race of the highest quality so that you can take on the challenge of running the highest and hardest marathon in the world, at the same time as making a difference to rural Nepali communities.
You’ll be taking part in a journey that you’ll remember for the rest of your life, with athletes from all over the world.
I look forward to hearing from you.
